Recapping our 2022 Event

While Thanksgiving is a once-a-year event, our Board and Committee work year-round to plan, fund-raise, coordinate and get everything ready for a smooth event. .

After successfully navigating the 2020 pandemic, and the 2021 inflation, 2022 threw a new wrench into the system: supply chain shortages.  Oh, and Avian Bid Flu… both of which combined to mean that none of our trusted suppliers were able to commit to being able to supply the food for our event.

So, knowing that the need was just as strong, we did what we always did, we improvised.  We partnered up with our social workers to build a distribution system, worked with our trusted partner, Aldi on putting together a recommended mealplan for a complete Thanksgiving dinner, gathering over 1000 gift cards in the process, and then turned to our trusted printing partner Allegra Palatine, to print cards and envelopes to carry across our message of hope and inspiration to our recipient families.

So all said and done, we were still able succeed in #DeliveringThanksgiving to 1015 families in the midst of the Supply Chain Shortage of 2022.

We look forward to getting back into the full Assembly Event for 2023.
